Five Ways to Winter Freedom With the Kids
Travel with your family debt free. Stay close to home and use the money saved to include the kids in your travel planning.
Buy quality gently used ski & snowboard equipment and head for the hills. Kids grow out of their ski equipment fast so take advantage of other families recycling through their equipment. Replacement every year or two is not unusual when kids are younger. The same goes for cross-country (nordic) skiing.
Check your local bulk retailer (e.g. Costco) for great deals on downhill ski passes. All resorts have travel getaway packages that include accommodations and ski passes.
Rent snowshoes and head for the nearest hills – they truly are a gas. Pack a picnic and make it a very special family day.
Enjoy your kids, they really grow up fast.
