For a nice change, try Mont Blanc and Mont Saint-Sauveur, resorts close by in the Laurentian Mountains, north of Montreal, Canada. The region features great downhill skiing, x-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, dog sledding, and more.

Domaine Saint-Bernard features 50 miles of well-groomed x-country and snowshoeing trails. Don’t forget to bring water and a knapsack for snacks. After lunch, grab a hand full of birdseed on the way. The birds will eat the seeds out of your hands. The kids love this. It is very reasonable to rent snowshoes and x-country ski equipment at the site. After a full day of winter activity at Domaine Saint- Bernard, relax by the warm fireplace with a hot chocolate.
